The Creative Process

One of the things that excites me most about creating jewellery is the way that each individual piece 'comes to life.' It can be a long process, but one I enjoy going through over and over again.

It all starts with some kind of inspiration. That might be a trip to an exotic location, the arrival of spring, a flower, a leaf... inspiration strikes in all kinds of places. From there I’ll start to do some initial drawings, which are then digitalised using computer aided design. The next step is turning the digital drawing into a three dimensional model made of wax. That’s when I think of the piece of jewellery being born - the idea has made it out of my head and into the real world! The wax model is then turned into a casting using only the very finest of materials and any stones are set, completing the piece to perfection. After that, it’s time to set the jewellery off on its journey to you, and I look for more inspiration, starting the creative process all over again.
