Developing talent with jewellery schools

After an official commercial brief, covering aims, the target market and design scope, selected jewellery design students will be given the chance to come up with a brand new range proposal for Studio Edge.

Each student must present a 20-minute pitch that talks about the range story, including key influences and aims, the brand essence, the range architecture and pricing. They'll also present the range design, including 2D and 3D representations, as well as show a product example and prototype(s).

Studio Edge will then support the students in digitalising their ideas, helping to define the desired output for prototyping and pre-production. University staff and the team from Studio Edge will then judge the work and give the students feedback.

The winning student(s) will undertake a three-week placement at Studio Edge, working with the in-house team to develop their range. Plus there will also be the opportunity to visit Studio Edge's Private Design Service in Bangkok.

The new range, subject to approval, will then be launched and the student will enjoy commission on sales for the following three years.
